Our Organization

.

The Junior Bowling Association of McHenry County is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization formed on November 9, 2014 whose purpose is to provide an educational, social and teamwork oriented activity for area youths regardless of their financial means.  The organization accomplishes this by teaching the fundamentals of bowling, sportsmanship, and friendly competition through organization delivered activities.

You might think that we are a young organization, but our history as a youth bowling league in the Crystal Lake Community goes back all the way to 1963.
In 1963, the Crystal Lake Jaycees partnered with Metro Bowl to create a winter youth bowling league.  For over five decades, the Jaycees and Metro Bowl have introduced bowling to thousands of area youth.  Some years there were as many as 120 youths bowling each Saturday.  Jaycees Junior Bowling had been one of the longest and most successful running projects in Crystal Lake Jaycees history.  In 2014 when it seemed like Junior Bowling would not happen, a small dedicated team stepped in and launched our organization.

As a not-for-profit the Junior Bowling Association is now a community resource, where we can draw on the talents and experiences throughout our community.
