We are the largest USBC certified youth program in McHenry County. We pride ourselves on providing a fun, competitive, and safe learning environment where youths can learn the sport and grow to love it. This will be the 8th Youth Tournament that we are hosting with our home bowling center Metro Bowl.

Annual Tournament Rules - updated for 8th Annual Tournament (1/25)
Eligibility: The tournament is open to all 2024- 2025 USBC certified Youth members. Current USBC membership cards must be presented at check-in for additional verification. Membership in the MCUSBC is required and can be purchased during registration.
Date & Location: The tournament will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, with check-in beginning 30 minutes
to your chosen squad time.
Registration: Registrations will be accepted through Monday, February 17, 2025, at midnight. Register online at
http://jrbowl.org.
Entry Fee: Entry fee is $50.00 per bowler. Credit card entries are accepted online. There will be no walk-ins or other
payment methods available for this event. Bowlers who are not members of the McHenry County USBC are required
pay $6 to join the MCUSBC local chapter.
Divisions: There will be two separate age divisions: one for 13 and under, the other for bowlers 14 through 18. All
year-olds must be SafeSport certified. The age of the youth bowler as of February 17, 2025, will determine the division
Squads: One start time is available for this event. The squad will start at 12:00 pm and will have 40 bowlers.
Lane Assignments & Check-In: Lanes will be assigned by the order of entries received. Each bowler must check-in
least 30 minutes prior to the start time to receive their lane assignments. Any bowlers checking in late will receive
(0) for any missed frames. No refunds will be given.
Average: Each bowler will use last year's (2023-2024 season) book average of 21 or more games unless this year's
average is 10 pins different after 15 or more games. League recap sheets for the current season must be uploaded
submitted prior to the tournament. Instructions will be provided during your online registration.
Format of Tournament: Each bowler will bowl three (3) games on the same pair of lanes. The bowler's handicap will
added to their scores. Handicap will be based on 90% of the difference between the bowler's average and 215. The
condition will be Metro Bowl's Standard House Shot pattern with no re-dressing of lanes. This is a USBC certified
handicap tournament.
Scholarships: 100% of scholarship portion of the entry fee will be deposited as scholarships held in the USBC SMART
Program in Arlington, TX. Scholarships will be awarded on at least a 1:5 ratio or major portion thereof in each division
the USBC Youth Bowler. To receive any SMART funding in the youth scholarship account, you must participate in the
event. No-Shows will not receive any SMART funding or a refund. For more information regarding the SMART Program

Dress Code: Bowlers must compete in appropriate bowling attire. This may include jeans or slacks and a jersey, t-shirt
or polo shirt. Shorts, skirts or skorts must be longer than fingertip length when arms are hanging loosely along the
of the body. No jeans with holes or writing, sweatpants, athletic shorts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, or strapless shirts
will be allowed. Clothing depicting alcohol, tobacco, or offensive language is also not allowed.
Equipment: Altering the surface of a bowling ball by the use of abrasives, cleaners, or polish is prohibited during
competition, including the warm-up session. A maximum of six bowling balls per entrant is permitted in the bowling
center at one time.
Pace of Play: Each Squad should be completed with all three games in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Please be ready to
Conduct: The use of alcohol, tobacco, abusive language, poor sportsmanship, or abuse of any bowling equipment
center property by participants or spectators will not be allowed. Violators will be asked to leave, and no refunds will
given.
Tournament Hosts: The tournament is jointly hosted by Metro Bowl and the Junior Bowling Association of McHenry
County, with support from the McHenry County USBC Association.
